Documentary Wedding Photographer For Couples Who Hate To Pose.

North East Wedding Photographer | Durham | Scott Carney Photography

Durham and North East Wedding Photographer

Wouldn’t it be great if your wedding photos were real? Welcome, I’m Scott, a North East wedding photographer, living in Durham. You can read more about me over on my about page and more about my approach here. I’m a documentary wedding photographer, covering the North East and across the whole of Yorkshire and the UK. When I think about weddings, I think about the person you are marrying, your friends and family. The laughs, tears and joy of a wedding day and not posing for hours for photos, being asked to say cheese or pretend to laugh. That’s basically what documentary means. Capturing the day as it happens and letting you enjoy your time with your guests. Nothing fake, just showing your day as you remember it, every awesome bit. I capture moments rather than create them and believe a truly documentary approach allows for real moments of real people. If you are looking for natural, storytelling, documentary wedding photography across Yorkshire and the North East then take a look through my gallery and get in touch if you want to chat.

My style is not for everyone, but if you want real moments from laughing to stupid dancing and everything in between then get in touch to talk through your wedding plans. I photograph each and every wedding myself and cover from getting ready until late evening, your wedding lasts longer than the first dance and so do I!

Documentary Wedding Photography

It seems to be everywhere now, that word documentary. But what does it actually mean? Well this isn’t the actual definition, but I see it as capturing the moment without interfering. This is how I want to capture weddings. You should think about enjoying your day, spending time with friends and family and just being awesome. If at the end of the day you have forgotten I am even at your wedding, then I have achieved my aim. I want you to look back through the photos from your North East wedding and just remember the day as it happened. Obviously when family come together I expect to take a few formal photos but otherwise relax, enjoy your day and I will tell your story through my images.

I look for couples that want the day to flow as they have planned it. I am just there to capture it. Looking through your finished photos I want you to go back to the day and remember those laughs, tears and hugs. I look back on wedding photos to remember the people and the moments, not the time the photographer made you walk through the long grass and pretend to laugh. So if you are a couple looking for a natural, documentary wedding photographer then get in touch below for a chat.

Amy & Tom

Amy and I have finally sat down to look through the photos and they're amazing! You captured the day so well and all our friends and family have loved looking through them. They have taken us back to all the little jokes and conversations we were having. We really couldn't be happier with how the photos have turned out.

We we're SO happy with the photographs, it was genuinely 100% what we wanted. I couldn't recommend him enough. Thanks you, Scott!
