An earlier start to 2019 than I am used to, but it was great to shake the Xmas and New Year food and drink off with a wedding early January.

I headed slightly North to Sunderland, spending the morning with the bride, Sarah. I had a lot of fun hanging out with the girls, the Prosecco was flowing (for them, not me of course) and everyone was fairly relaxed. Sarah, her parents and bridesmaids headed to the ceremony in two lovely vintage cars.

Of course we can’t forget about the groom, James. he got ready together with his groomsmen and one of the cutest little boys I have ever seen, little Charlie.

The ceremony took place at a lovely church not far from Websters Ropery. The service was really nice and the Vicar was great with me and the videographer on the day, Jon from Top Table films.

James had one of the best reactions I have seen from a groom in a good while as Sarah entered the church. There were tears and lots of emotion from everyone. The weather couldn’t have been better for January, a crisp winters day with no rain.

Websters Ropery Wedding

After the ceremony, we all headed to the reception location, Websters Ropery in Sunderland. The venue has plenty of space outside and looks out across the river. Inside there was a roaring fire and everyone was relaxing ready for the speeches and food. Websters Ropery has several rooms and is a fantastic out of the way wedding venue. Entertainment was provided by a Caricaturist, Helen Wardropper.

For the evening, Sarah and James got the guests outside with sparklers, had a lovely first dance filled with emotion and a fantastic party. Thanks to all the team at Websters Ropery who were fantastic on the day. Thanks above all to Sarah and James for having me along for their wonderful wedding. A great start to 2019.
