It was a pleasure to photograph the colourful Wylam Brewery wedding of Hannah & Jonny recently. If you are considering a Wylam wedding then read on for all the info about one of the most unique venues in Newcastle!
It’s always great photographing at Wylam Brewery, located within Exhibition park in central Newcastle, Wylam is an events space as well as a wedding venue. Hosting many live music events means it’s a fantastic space with some of the best lighting and sound system I have ever seen at a wedding venue. One of Newcastles most iconic wedding venues, Wylam Brewery is located within The Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park close to Newcastle city centre right next to the Town Moor. Wylam is a 30 barrell Micro Brewery with a tap room and incredible wedding and events space within the Grand Hall.
The Grand Hall hosts the main parts of your wedding day including; ceremony, wedding meal and reception. They also offer smaller ceremony options in the foyer. The Grand Hall can seat over 100 and has a full wedding licence. A large stage can host a band together with plenty of seating and a large dance floor. The room also hosts a bar, keeping all your guests together in the same space.

Wylam doesn’t offer accommodation on site, however, being so close to the centre of Newcastle you and your guests have loads of options to stay over and no issues getting taxis or transport. Check out this Newcastle taxi company for quotes.
Outside of Wylam leads directly into Exhibition Park, a large open green space, lake and with Wylam as a backdrop there are loads of options for any formal group photos and couple portraits.
Documentary Wedding Photography at Wylam Brewery
I always photograph weddings in my documentary, relaxed and natural style and Wylam Brewery weddings are no different. I focus on capturing real moments of real people. Showing the true personalities of you and your guests and documenting your wedding day as the fun, unique and emotional day that it is. No two weddings are the same so I don’t treat them like they are.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT WYLAM BREWERY
It’s a dream to photograph weddings at Wylam Brewery, the large main room has plenty of light and space, especially useful during the ceremony, speeches and evening dancing. The space makes it easy for me to move around and photograph from various locations without any disruption and it’s just a wonderful backdrop and unique being circular. With the covered steps out the front and plenty of green space it is also a great venue if the weather is typically British!
The perfect venue for beer lovers. Wylam is a brewery after all so of course they have a wonderful selection of drinks available including a gin bar in the entrance.

There is no denying that a lot of different venue types are diversifying into weddings. For couples and suppliers this is great, we get to see loads of quirky venues and you can find the perfect space for your day.
LOCATION
Based within Exhibition Park in Newcastle Upon Tyne. You actually have to go into the park to get to the venue. Taxis will generally go in and drop you off at the venue door as it’s a little walk from the park gate if not. Cars are not usually allowed to drive in the park with the exception of suppliers of course. It’s a fantastic venue location wise, Newcastle has an international airport, train station that sits on the main London to Edinburgh line and of course local taxis and UBER.
There are no shortage of hotels, parking and travel options as you would expect from a city.
