As you drive across the border into Scotland you are met with rolling hills and green countryside as far as you can see. It already gets me excited for the wedding and it’s one of my favourite places in the world. As you approach the village (I use the term village loosely here as it’s a tiny place) of Roberton you are met with a few house, a church and a village hall and that’s it really. It is the cutest little community place though and with just a one minute walk between the church and hall it was the ideal setup. It was a little wet during the day but nothing took away from the excitement for the couple and they setup a big canopy tent outside the hall which worked really well and is a great tip for anyone worried about the weather or with limited inside space.
The hall was decorated with colourful streamers from the wonderful Streamadelica with the rest of the amazing decorations done DIY by the couple. A shots wheel, huge crisp wall, colour everywhere and a cardboard cutout of Pit Bull, the hall looked fantastic and it was such a great atmosphere. After the speeches everyone played bongo bingo which was wild and so much fun.
I love a village hall wedding and I love Scotland and this was such a fun day. A huge shoutout to all the suppliers (linked below) and of course Amy & Aaron for trusting me to capture it all.
You can find out more about Forman Memorial Hall (Roberton Hall) on their website here.
I always approach weddings in my relaxed, candid style and tell the story of the day. This wedding was colourful, had rain, ice cream, all the fun of bongo bingo and the funny prizes and energy but also plenty of small moments and I loved the challenge of finding the photos.
