Cardiff Marquee Wedding

Every now and again I get the rare chance to cover a wedding for an old friend. This was one of those times. Michael the groom had served with me in the Army a good few years ago. I was honoured when he contacted me about his Cardiff marquee wedding in Wales and of course a chance to meet up with some old friends was too good to miss.
I headed down to Cardiff for the bank holiday weekend to cover this gorgeous marquee wedding. Gabby was getting ready at her parents house and as I arrived I saw a distinctive Land Rover Defender parked outside with lots of busy, but excited bridesmaids and parents inside.
Gabby was only slightly late which gave us time to capture some images with Michael as he waited nervously for her to arrive (he might say differently but he was definitely nervous!) The ceremony was at the local church which is a lovely church and despite the rain as we left the church we arrived at the marquee ready to greet Gabby and Michael in the Land Rover.
The guests had plenty to keep them busy with a falcon display and magician who did some amazing card tricks. Even with the rain everyone was having a great time. The kids table already had food out and plenty to keep them busy. There was a huge hog roast for all the adults.
The speeches were some of the best I have heard in a long time with plenty of laughs and tears from everyone including Michael embarrassing his sister.
The couple were brilliant on the day and even had a little wander outside for some natural photos; despite the wet weather. I captured some documentary photos before the first dance and cake cutting and the band really got everyone dancing. We even had some attempts at the Dirty Dancing lift from some of the lads!
I want to say a huge thanks to Gabby and Michael for having me along to tell their wedding story. The day was amazing and it was so nice to see some old friends again. An amazing weekend in Cardiff and I wish the happy couple all the best for the future. Planning a Cardiff marquee wedding? Give me a shout today.
