Intimate Marquee Wedding

For me this intimate marquee wedding of Zuzu and Mark was everything that weddings are about. The coming together of families, fun and laughter and it was a very special day.
Sunday, July, London, I arrived at Mark’s parents house to find the final preparations under way. The wedding had been organised quickly due to the unfortunate health of the groom (Marks) mum.
I love weddings at family homes as they always feel so comfortable, this marquee wedding didn’t disappoint. The marquee was placed in the garden for the ceremony and evening reception, with drinks served in the house itself during the day.
Zuzu arrived and the ceremony started, everyone was so friendly and welcoming and I felt like part of the family from the start. The day was all held in the marquee and house in this quiet cul de sac in North West London. The speeches were very emotional and we had tears and laughter throughout the whole day.
Intimate marquee weddings are very popular and it’s easy to see why. I always say weddings are about the people, that’s why I photograph in a documentary style. I want to tell the story of the people at the wedding. The evening saw singing from the maid of honour and Irish songs which had everyone dancing and singing! The whole wedding was so much fun and I loved every minute of this intimate marquee wedding.
Unfortunately I received some very sad news from the bride a few weeks after the wedding that Marks mum had passed away. My thoughts are with the family and it is a very real reminder of just how important photos can be.
Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely pictures you took. You managed to capture so many moments with her. The whole family are grateful to have the pictures to look at. Thank you once again. Zuzu and Mark.
