Colourful Outdoor Wedding at The Parlour at Blagdon

A gorgeous sunny July day, laughter booming from the Snowy Owl hotel as Rosie and her bridesmaids started their morning with hair, makeup and prosecco. Heading to The Parlour at Blagdon to get dressed ahead of the ceremony.

Josh, the groom, arrived ready to meet guests and enjoy the sunshine ahead of the outdoor ceremony. The chairs are set up, each with individual fans and space for the couple under the canopy.

The Parlour at Blagdon Wedding

Located just 10 minutes from Newcastle, out towards the Northumberland countryside, the Parlour at Blagdon is a hidden oasis, featuring gardens, outdoor space and various indoor rooms to host all parts of your wedding day.

Following the ceremony and confetti were relaxed welcome drinks, guests sitting around on the grass, under trees, feeling like ‘that’ part of a festival between bands, drinking, eating and enjoying the company. My candid documentary style means the couple were not away for ages for photos and we got through the few family formal groups quickly, giving them plenty of time to enjoy with their guests.

Something that doesn’t happen very often for me at weddings, outdoor speeches. It’s a nice way to limit how long people are sat down for and offers lots of flexibility for locations and I think it feels more relaxed.

The dance floor was packed and full of energy with some impressive moves (see the photos below). The whole day was a very relaxed, colourful and fun affair and it was a pleasure to be part of it.

A huge thanks to Rosie & Josh for having me along and trusting me to capture their day and to the team at The Parlour at Blagdon for all the help and support.

Take a look at some of my favourite photos from the day and a full list of suppliers at the bottom.
